Flash hiding is only necessary on the Linux platform. The flash plugin allows HTML elements to be layered on top of the flash content on Windows and Mac.

The Hide and Show buttons demonstrate what will happen when the menu collides with a flash animation. The object tag is wrapped inside of a div tag that uses a faded version of the flash animation as a background image. When the flash animation is hidden, the background image will be visible.
